Use of Apostrophe and Of The in Hindi

Apostrophe ( ' ) का प्रयोग सीखियें । जैसे ( Amar's pen ) ( Ravi's friends ) ( girls' school ) ( boys' college ) ( the buffalo's milk ) ( buffaloes' milk )

1. प्रानिबोधक Singular Noun को Possessive Case का रूप देने के लिए 'S
( Apostrophe S ) लगाया जाता हैं . जैसे -------

1. अमर की कलम	Amar's pen
2. कुते की पूँछ	the dog's tail
3. मेरे भाई का नाम	My brother's name
4. रवि के दोस्त	Ravi's friends

2. प्रानिबोधक Plural Nouns जिसके अंत में S रहे उसे Possessive Case का रूप देने के लिए मात्र Apostrophe ( ' ) का प्रयोग किया जाता हैं , परन्तु अंत में S नहीं रहने पर ' S का प्रयोग किया जाता हैं . जैसे ------

1. लड़कियों का स्कूल	girls' school
2. लड़कों का कॉलेज	boys' college

3. औरतों का विचार	women's view
4. भैंस का दूध	the buffalo's milk
5. भैंसों का दूध	buffaloes' milk

3. निर्जीव पदार्थो के साथ ' S का प्रयोग प्राय: नहीं होता हैं . निर्जीव बोधक Noun के पहले of लगाकर उसे Possessive Case का रूप दे सकते हैं . जैसे ------

1. फलों का रंग	the colour of the fruits
2. इस तालाब का पानी	the water of this pond
3. कार की खिड़की	the window of the car
4. कार की खिड़कियाँ	the windows of the car

4. प्रानिबोधक संज्ञाओ का Possessive Case आप दोनों प्रकार से यानि ' S / Apostrophe या of लगाकर बना सकते हैं . जैसे ------

1. पवन की बकरी	the goat of Pawan / Pawan's goat
2. भैंस का दूध	the milk of the buffalo / the buffalo's milk
3. सुनील की माता	the mother of Sunil / Sunil's mother
4. लड़कियों के नाम	the names of the girls / the girls' names

Note : जिस Noun के बाद of आये उस Noun के पहले The अवश्य लगाये . जैसे ------

2. अमर की कलमें	Amar's pens / the pens of Amar
3. बूढों का स्वभाव	old's nature / the nature of old
4. कुतों का रंग	dogs' colour / the colour of the dogs
5. चाँद का रंग	the colour of the moon
6. पंजाब की राजधानी	the capital of Punjab
7. हिमाचल की सुन्दरता	the beauty of Himachal
8. घड़ी की कीमत	the price of the watch
9. मेरी बहनों का स्वभाव	My sisters' nature / the nature of my sisters

Examples ( b )

1. वह कृष्णा की घड़ी हैं .	That is Krishna's watch. That is the watch of Krishna.
2. ये कृष्णा की घड़ियाँ हैं .	These are Krishna's watches. These are the watches of Krishna.
3. सीता की बहन बीमार हैं .	Sita's sister is ill.
4. रमेश के दोस्त लोग बीमार हैं .	Ramesh's friends are ill.
5. इस तालाब का पानी साफ़ हैं .	The water of this pond is clean.

6. नईं दिल्ली भारत की राजधानी हैं .	New Delhi is the capital of India.
7. मेरी बहनों का स्वभाव बुरा हैं .	My sisters' nature is bad.
8. दीवार की लंबाई पांच फीट हैं .	The length of the wall is five feet.
9. भारत गांवों का देश हैं .	India is a country of villages.
10. इस स्कूल के बच्चे नटखट हैं .	The children of this school are naughty.

Note : ' कश्मीर की सुन्दरता ' का अंग्रेजी अनुवाद करने के लिए उल्टा शुरू करे ,
                 यानि पहले   ' सुन्दरता '   तब   ' की '   तब   ' कश्मीर ' की अंग्रेजी दें .
                   ------   The beauty of   Kashmir   शुरू   में   The   लगा   दे .
                 इसी प्रकार ------

1. इस कार की खिड़की	the window of this car
2. रवि की बैलें	the oxes of Ravi Ravi's oxes

अगर Apostrophe S लगाना हो तो सीधा शुरू करे .

Examples :

1. यह मेरी कलम हैं .	This is my pen.
2. वह तुम्हारा कॉलेज था .	That was your college.
3. वह उसका अपना खेत था .	That was his own field.
4. ये कुत्तें मेरे होंगे .	These dogs will be mine.

5. वह गलती तुम्हारी नहीं थी .	That mistake was not yours.
6. तुम मेरे अपने दोस्त नहीं थे .	You were not my own friend.
7. वह मेरा दोस्त नहीं होगा .	He will not be my friend.
8. वे गायें उसकी नहीं होंगी .	Those cows will not be his.

Interogative Sentences

1. क्या यह मेरी कार थी ?	Was this my car ?
2. क्या वह घर मेरा होगा ?	Will that house be mine ?
3. क्या ये पुस्तकें तुम्हारी होंगी ?	Will these books be yours ?
4. क्या राजीव का घर आपका नहीं होगा ?	Will Rajeev 's house not be yours ?

5. क्या यह हमारा नहीं हैं ?	Is this not ours ?
6. क्या तुम मेरे दोस्त नहीं थे ?	Were you not my friend ?
7. क्या वह मेरा दोस्त नहीं होगा ?	Will he not be my friend ?
8. क्या वे गायें उसकी नहीं होंगी ?	Will those cows not be his ?

When / Why / How Etc का प्रयोग

1. ये तुम्हारी पुस्तकें कैसे हैं ?	How are these your books ?
2. ये पुस्तकें तुम्हारी कैसे हैं ?	How are these books yours ?
3. तुम्हारी बैलें सोहन की बैलें कैसे थी ?	How were your oxes Sohan's oxes ?
4. वह तुम्हारा अपना दोस्त कैसे हैं ?	How is he your own friend ?

5. ये भैसें मेरी भैसें कैसे नहीं होंगी ?	How will these buffaloes not be my buffaloes ?
6. यह हमारा कैसे नहीं हैं ?	How is this not ours ?
7. कौन तुम्हारा नहीं हैं ?	Which is not yours ?
